Cleaner Processes

Degreasers:

Degreaser SLOTOCLEAN AK 10

A highly effective immersion cleaner for the removal of oils, greases and drawing compounds from steel, even at low temperatures.

Copper can also be cleaned but brass substrate may show tarnishing after prolonged treatment.
The good conductivity means that it can also be used as an anodic degreaser.

Degreaser SLOTOCLEAN AK 90

A weak alkaline degreaser for removal of processing oils and drawing compounds from copper, brass, aluminium or German silver.

If used with ultrasonic support it can be very effective at removing polishing compounds and grinding pastes.

Degreaser SLOTOCLEAN AK 150

A strongly alkaline process for immersion degreasing of steel to remove processing oil.

The process is low in silicates and free of phosphates and complexing agents.

Degreaser SLOTOCLEAN AK 160

A universal alkaline cleaner for ferrous and non-ferrous substrates.

It can be used either as a soak cleaner or electrolytic process with the appropriate degreaser additive for the application.

Degreaser SLOTOCLEAN AK 180

Degreaser SLOTOCLEAN AK 180 is a  weak alkaline process for soak cleaning of steel, non-ferrous and aluminium.

The cleaner is made up with a liquid concentrate along with an appropriate degreaser additive for the application.

Degreaser SLOTOCLEAN AK 340

A mild, alkaline process for soak cleaning of sensitive metals such as zinc diecast and aluminium.

The cleaner is made up with a salt concentrate along with an appropriate degreaser additive for the application.

It is also suitable for cleaning copper, brass and steel.

Degreaser SLOTOCLEAN AE 310

Degreaser SLOTOCLEAN AE 310 is a strongly alkaline degreaser for soak and electrolytic cleaning of steel.

Three separate degreaser concentrates are available depending on the application, two are free of complexing agents and one contains a weak complexing agents.

Degreaser SLOTOCLEAN EL KG

An electrolytic degreaser primarily for cathodic cleaning of copper and copper alloys Alternatively it can be used anodic degreasing of steel.

Zinc die cast can also be cleaned cathodically before a brief anodic treatment to improve adhesion.

Degreaser SLOTOCLEAN EL DCG

An electrolytic degreaser for anodic or pole reversal degreasing of steel. Alternatively it can be used cathodically for non-ferrous.

If used for anodic and cathodic cleaning of non-ferrous and zinc die cast substrate then this must be carried out in separate tanks.

Degreaser SLOTOCLEAN EL DCG F

A universal electrolytic degreaser process which is operated with a single liquid concentrate for rack, barrel or reel to reel applications.

Ferrous substrates are poled anodically but non-ferrous and poled cathodically before a brief anodic treatment.

If used for anodic and cathodic cleaning of non-ferrous and zinc die cast substrate then this must be carried out in separate tanks.

Degreaser SLOTOCLEAN EL 130

An electrolytic degreaser for the cleaning and activation of ferrous, non-ferrous metals and zinc die cast.

The process is operated with a single salt which is free from cyanide, surfactant and complexing agents.

Degreaser SLOTOCLEAN EL 210

A universal electrolytic cleaner for ferrous and non-ferrous metals which is operated with a single liquid concentrate. Additional cleaner additives are recommended depending on the application.

Ferrous substrate can also be immersion degreased using this process.

Degreaser SLOTOCLEAN EL 220

Deagreaser SLOTOCLEAN EL 220 is primarily used for electrolytic degreasing of non-ferrous metals as well as immersion degreasing of zinc die cast.

Cleaner SLOTOCLEAN S 20

A sulphuric acid based cleaner which is primarily used for printed circuit board manufacture. SLOTOCLEAN S 20 removes oxide, finger print and resist residue with minimal attack of the copper surface.

Cleaner SLOTOCLEAN S 20 PA

A phosphoric acid based process for the cleaning and activation of printed circuit boards.

SLOTOCLEAN S 20 PA removes oxide, finger print and resist residue with minimal attack of the copper surface.

Degreaser Additives:

Degreaser Additive SLOTOCLEAN US 11

Enhances the effect of hot soak cleaners which are used with ultrasonic support. Non-ferrous items are left hydrophobic when used in weakly alkaline cleaners.

The additive is strongly foaming meaning air agitation is not suitable.

Degreaser Additive SLOTOCLEAN RV 111

A universal degreaser additive for use in alkaline hot soak cleaners whether it is for ferrous or non-ferrous substrates.

The additive is strongly foaming meaning air agitation is not suitable.

Degreaser Additive SLOTOCLEAN RV 211

An alternative to the SLOTOCLEAN RV 111 but only moderately foaming which means air agitation is possible.

Degreaser Additive SLOTOCLEAN RV 311

A universal degreaser additive similar to SLOTOCLEAN RV 111 but with a slightly higher oil absorption capacity.

The additive is strongly foaming meaning air agitation is not suitable.

Degreaser Additive SLOTOCLEAN RV 411

A universal degreaser additive similar to SLOTOCLEAN RV 111 but may work better on certain oil types.

Degreaser Additive SLOTOCLEAN RV 611

A degreaser additive which is mainly recommended for use in reel to reel lines or in electrolytic degreaser. Above 60°C the degreaser is only moderately foaming.

Wetting Agent AZN

A spray suppressor which forms a thin foam blanket on the surface limiting the spray given of in electrolytic degreasers.

Pickle Degreaser SLOTOCLEAN BEF 30

Pickle Degreaser SLOTOCLEAN BEF 30 is used in hydrochloric or sulphuric based pickles.

It contains inhibitors to minimise the attack on steel while still allowing removal of rust, scale and oxide layers.

Pickle Inhibitor SLOTOCLEAN 0066

Pickle Inhibitor SLOTOCLEAN 0066 is used in hydrochloric or sulphuric based pickles.

It contains inhibitors to minimise the attack on steel while still allowing removal of rust, scale and oxide layers.

SLOTETCH 584

SLOTETCH 584 is a micro etch which is used in the manufacture of printed circuit boards or lead frames.

Primarily used for the etching of copper and alloy 42 substrates.

Activator S2

A mixture of dry acid salts used for the activation of nickel, copper, copper alloys, zinc die cast, steel and stainless steel prior to plating.

The process can also be used electrolytically to promote adhesion onto passive surfaces such as nickel and stainless steel.

SLOTOCLEAN PL 10

SLOTOCLEAN PL 10 is an acid based process for cleaning leaded brass. It is also beneficial in reducing lead content on internal areas of brass fittings.

 

Alumenate Process:

Degreaser SLOTOCLEAN AK 340

Aluminium Pickle SLOTETCH 590

A strongly acidic process for the removal oxides from the surface of the aluminium substrate prior to subsequent plating.

It has been specially developed to have a low etch rate of the underlying substrate and help to leave a smooth, pit free and adherent surface on aluminium alloys.

Aluminium Pickle SLOTOCLEAN AK 60

A sodium hydroxide based aluminium pickle for use on aluminium substrates.

The process has excellent wetting and dispersing characteristics.

The use of organic oxidants and complexing agents prevents the formation of scale even at high aluminium concentration.

Desmut SLOTOCLEAN DS 10

A nitric acid free process for removing the smut formed during the etching of aluminium alloys.

The process has a long service life, is easily maintained and has negligible attack on the substrate.

Zincate CNF 10

Zincate CNF 10 is a cyanide free process which produces by immersion a thin zincate layer on aluminium and its alloys allowing subsequent electroless or electrolytic plating.

Zinc Strip SLOTOSTRIP ZN 10

A nitric free  zinc strip for removal of the first stage zincate layer in a double zincate layer process sequence.

The process has a long service life, is easily maintained and has negligible attack on the substrate.
